Cambridge Growth Company Chair Peter Freeman Addresses FeCRA on Creating ‘Happy Cities’

On 15th May, Peter Freeman, Chair of the Cambridge Growth Company, was invited by the Federation of Cambridge Residents’ Associations (FeCRA) to speak at a public event hosted at Great St Mary’s Church.

The evening centred around the theme of Happy Cities, with Peter sharing his insights on what makes for successful placemaking. Drawing on national and international examples, he explored the key ingredients that contribute to thriving, liveable communities, and discussed how Cambridge can adopt best practice in shaping its future.

Following his talk, Peter engaged in a Q&A session with the audience, covering a broad range of topics including affordable housing, infrastructure, water sustainability, and the environment.

Responses to the questions that could not be addressed on the night are available here.

We are grateful to FeCRA for the invitation and the thoughtful discussion, and we look forward to further engagement with local residents in future events.
